We have a joint internet account that is my husband and me I found out you can only have only one bank account linked to it which is my bank account Got me thinking if anything happens to me can my husband still get money out through my account or could he change the linked account into his own account0

I can - my husband and i have several and the big advantage for me (us) that they have over two single accounts is that i can manage them! He really isn't that interested and when i have to get him to call a bank to go through security so that he can authorise them to speak to me, it's a farce. There he is saying 'the third letter of my password?' - i scribble it on a bit of paper and he tells them the answer .... he'd rather be in the garage tinkering with his car!
Therefore, what you describe is perfectly well catered for by having the money in an account in your name.0 -

Mind you if i get run over by a bus he'll be in a bit of a pickle for a while - i have tried but ....
I laughed when I read this post as it is exactly the same in this house. My husband has no interest in how it all works. He just wants to be able to take spending money out of his account when needed. I learned very early on that having a joint account was simply out of the question. He got so confused with his PIN number etc that after a long discussion with the manager at the on line bank it was agreed that I could administer my husband's account. It all works well now and I even got compensation for all the hassle caused.
It was a nightmare getting my OH to go through security on the 'phone that I have taken steps to make sure it does not occur again.
Re "getting run over by a bus...." I have warned my daughter that she will be heavily involved with her father's finances when I pop off.0
