yahoo email-emails being sent-help please

Emails are being sent from my yahoo email address to contacts in my address book with an advert for viagra as a link. I have sent everyone in my contacts (over 400 people!) a warning not to open it. I have run a malware scan and it has come back with nothing. On my tab it says (1 unread) but there are no unread emails?

Will changing my password get rid of this?

It is more than likely a compromised password. Changing it would be a good option, and try to make it secure, put some numbers in as a minimum.

No harm in changing your password to see if that makes a difference.

Changing passwords is the best place to start, then I would use a client like Thunderbird or even OE/Live mail (spit spit) and keep your contacts outside of the cloud, so many people keep reporting that their contacts are being sent dodgy emails why do they keep their contacts out in the free air.
