Joined E.ON in Aug, they're hiking, but think I'm better with them?

Although I'm loyal to some brands (which is bad, I know), I was getting on well with E.ON after the delay with setting up my account (posted on here and I did receive help from the employees helping here -thanks), but since the letter informing me of their hikes in prices, I opted to leave SaveOnline 3 and switch to Scottish Power's Online 12 dealy.

I've had a letter yesterday from E.ON saying 'they don't want to see me go' and that I should call them and 'they're confident that I'm better off with them'.

They're prompting me to call / email them to discuss leaving them and to see if I would stay - Can they haggle on prices similar to Sky TV who recently cut my bill in half when I suggested that we were considering moving to Virgin who were (at the time) cheaper?

I'm just thinking that since Scottish Power's deal is cheaper than the hike E.ON are starting, I'd be better off with them, but E.ON seem to think I'm better staying with them?

Has anyone experienced this - or if they have got a better deal?

They will (or should) only offer you something from one of their currently available range.

As you presumably used a comparison site to compare, then there's nothing they can (or should) offer you that will beat what you opted for.

(Be aware that OES 12 is not now on comparison sites as it's been replaced by OES 13, which is more expensive. This could make comparing what they offer you difficult)

I would be inclined to ignore them. You made a decision, which hopefully was correct at the time. They write a 'sorry you are leaving' letter primarily to ensure you did actually ask to switch, but use the opportunity to see if you'll reconsider even though it means paying a higher price.
