Hi peeps, I used one of the MSE template letters to get a charges refund along with all the necessary paper work highlighting the charges and dates and amounts etc. Santander refused to give me any refund what so ever. I am very dissapointed in them, they have also given me a few more charges due to the delays involved with cheques. I'm moving to Lloyds soon but does anyone know if there is anyway, shape, or form of me being able to reclaim my money back? Any posts/replies greatly appreciated.

Have you read the two MSE guides to reclaiming bank charges?
Essential the first involves genuine financial hardship, and even then the banks are not obligated to refund any charges.
The second is based on legal claims, but I would advise that no one has yet indicated any success following that guide in court. Banks will defend claims made on legal grounds as they believe they have the law on their side following the decision of the Supreme Court in Novenber 2009."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
If the bank has issued its final response and said no, you have the option to ask the Financial Ombudsman Service to review your complaint. But see Premier's comments above for the need to be able to establish financial hardship.0
