the best veg mash is carrot and swede, add butter and a level tsp of sugar, bit of salt , then blend with a handblender, if they are on offer, add sweet potatos too, (all been cooked in a steamer by the way), if theres any left, mix with a couple of veg stock cubes and it makes fab soup

If you're going to be doing much in the way of mash southerscouser, may I suggest you treat yourself to one of these ? Best masher in the world. Cuts through the veggies, doesn't destroy the cell structure and make wallpaper paste like so many. I often do swede and carrot, must try your combo

And no I'm not on commission despite recommending these loads :rotfl:You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -

£9.50? I'd rather crush it with my hands.

I bought one from Tesco for £4. Does the job.

Ooo, yes. I forgot celeriac. OK, it's not to everyone's taste, but it's sometimes price reduced as a result, and is perfect in something like this. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

Try adding a good tablespoon of wholegrain mustard and olive oil (if you need to watch the waistline) instead of butter very nice!0
