To stop the calls:

If you're getting Junk Mail too. click here.
Credit Card Protection. The most you'll lose to fraud is £50. This is when fraud occurs in that period of time between losing your card and reporting it lost. Unless of course you've been negligent with your PIN. You can eliminate this too if you opt for Chip & Signature Credit Cards.

Hi goldenbolux,
Good question ... I am with CPP (Card Protection Plan) who provided me 3 years cover - they have just sent me a renewal reminder for the next 3 years at £70! However, a quick google and I find they have more basic cover from £12 single (£18 joint cover for me) for 1 year whilst the 3 year cost is £29 (£44 joint) ... Somehow I don't think anyone at CPP was going to mention these other options to me! Anyhow I shall probably go with their 1 year option unless someone knows anything cheaper. Sentinel started at £20 single.
I am not looking for fraud cover for the reasons James highlights. For me, it is the convenience of having all my credit card and membership card details registered in one place which requires a single phone call to have any lost ones cancelled. Having had my wallet stolen twice in the recent past, this is a worthwhile investment for me.0 -

You can rely on James to bring this subject up whatever the context.0 -

Absolutely - why take the risk of being held responsible for the integrity of your PIN when;
A. The Industry themselves fall down on this?
B. You can opt out of PIN and continue to sign.

The best protection is none in my opinion, pay a extra £5 a month off the card and save yourself the money.
After all worst case is you get a default, if your out of a job or ill im sure the last thing you will worry about is a nasty letter from the county court.If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

I agree with Roswell's point if we are talking Payment Protection. However for Card Protection Insurance, I'm happy to pay £1.50 per month for my wife's and my cards to all be registered in one place so I make just one easy phone call in the event of loss of theft. Unless of course anyone out there knows a cheaper policy than this £18 p.a. for a joint CPP policy ...0

Are there really only two options of CPP or Sentinel? I travel a lot so it's convenient to have all the cards registered in one place but Sentinel have just sent me a renewal notice of £29 for one year which seems very steep.0

I agree with the above poster, a complete waste of time and money, just look after your cards and dont loose them. Thats the safest way.0
