Can the blinds improve the temperature in my conservatory?

My lean-to conservatory has a very common problem: hotter during summer and colder during winter.

Now, a conservatory blind company told me that I can install their blind in the windows, door and the conservatory roof as well. They say that the blinds would help retain the heat during winter but somehow also help the room become cooler during summer.

Does anyone have experience with this? Do you think the blinds can help?

My MIL had a large conservatory in her old house and she had pulled downs blind over a plastic roof (thick plastic with air pocket in it) and I was surprised how warmer it was with it over

Then how about the summer? It it cooler?

I am very surprised to hear about the blinds and how they can do. So any advice is appreciated.

Yes blinds will make it cooler in the summer.

The salesman told me that only two ways can make a conservatory be used all year round:

1. Solid roof (of course, you will lose the light)

2. Blinds
