car insurance NCB

No claims bonus,
I can't believe the quotes I have just received. I have been driving for over 27 years, I have never been in an accident and had full no claimes bonus for many years. I last held my own insurance 3 years ago but have been a named driver for the last 3 years - so no break. I drive a £250 T reg rover 215 that has only done 26,000 miles and I will be doing about 6,000 per year. the cheapest quote has been £650. I can't believe it. It is garaged overnight. What are the best insurers for my circumstances.

Regards.

Impossible to say insurer X will be the cheapest, Insurance doesnt make sense. My clean licence
and no claims quotes are cheaper if i add a driver who has claimed recently. Mental.

You need to try all the online sites and local brokers and the companies the car clubs use for your model.

When you have tried them all im sure you could try harder and find a few you forgot.

It was quoted on the news at the weekend that after a hike in insurance prices last year they have gone up another 33% this year.

A 0.7cc engine wouldn't power a model airplane let alone a car. :rotfl:

  • Insurance has jumped this year massively. Low interest rates, lower investment returns and higher claims mean the books haven't balanced for insurers. Last thing I read was £120 out in claims for every £100 coming in.

My lowest quote was with Admiral (no thanks- seen someone in the office claiming with them in the past!) and ended up paying £90 more than last year. Nothing I could do to get it better.

Many of the larger increases are post code related, not much anybody can do about that.
