Benefits for working parents?

  • They would get minimal help with childcare on that wage - most likely be much better off taking the vouchers as these are taken off their wages before tax so £700 wage is worth £1000 in vouchers and this would also lower their taxable income for tax credit purposes so they should recieve more in the way of child tax credits. Any childcare paid for with vouchers can not be claimed for via the childcare element of working tax credit.

It is for benefit purposes. They will only be entitled to basic tax credits of £545 per year.

Arent tax credits being stopped for incomes over 25k with just one child in the next couple of years anyway? Far better to budget on salary alone and then anything extra is a bonus.
