Dwarf fruit trees in beds?
My little girl has requested an apple tree in our very small garden. I saw these http://www.jparkers.co.uk/plant-1001011-cc-2/3-midget-fruit-tree-collection/ and wondered if I would be able to plant them in the flower bed next to our patio (it's about 50cm wide)?
Do I need to keep them away from the house so the roots don't damage the foundations?
Do I need to keep them in a container in the ground to keep them small?
Sorry if these are really silly questions! I'm not too bad with flowers and veg, but have no idea when it comes to trees! Thank you for any help. Boo.x

No problem with the patio location, ditto next to the wall - the issue there would not be damage but dryness as the wall keeps the rain from hitting the ground in its 'shadow'. No need for a container, this would stop the trees developing properly.
You could also consider planting a 'normal' fruit tree variety and keeping it small through pruning, though the more vigorous the root stock the more potential you will have a damage issue with the wall (heave etc).0 -
Lovely answer, thank you very much. I'm not worried about dryness as it's only a conservatory wall and it doesn't seem to provide too much shelter0
