kitchen / family room sizing help PLEASE!!!

Kitchen sizing help please?
Can you help - we are looking at doing an extension to our bungalow - internally it would be 12 ft 1 x 21 ft 9 - whilst I appreciate this is a good size for a kitchen - I just cant envisage it - I would like to have a big kitchen come family room with a table/chairs and if poss a sofa - will it look squeezed in - has anyone got any piccies of anythign similar - any experience - any suggestions

I think you could do it with that size, but you'd have to plan the layout careflly. When I'm picturing it with a kitchen end with units coming across the middle of the room, dividing it - if you see what I mean - I think that way a sofa would end up being a bit shoe-horned in. But if you kept the kitchen units just to two walls in an L-shape, so it was still one big open room, then I think you could comfortably get the table and the sofa in.
There are definitely sites out there that have room-planning applications on - I'm sure someone will be along before long to point you in the right direction for them (sorry, I don't know the links).0 -
Forgot to say - there will be no windows at all down the long walls - but a door and a window along one end and another window the opposite end - two skylights and to bring it into the exisitng bungalow - there will be a set of double doors ont he end of one long wall
Currently we have planning permission for the building but internally is a blank canvas at the mo - so any and all ideas very much appreciated0 -

so do you mean have the table in the middle of the room - hadnt thought of that..had been originally thinking of having an island - ummmmmmmmm - so much to think about - thank you0
