Investment Clubs?

Hi,
This is a two part question.

1). Is it possible for someone to join an existing investment club. Or is the membership fixed when the club is formed because of the money deposited by the members?

2). If it is possible to join, how would one find a local club?

You'd have to buy in like a poker game i imagine. Maybe similar to investment trusts

Depends on the club wouldn't it? Eight guys down the pub get together and throw £500 in each are likely not to want some stranger coming in spoiling their fun - unless you're a stock broker.

I found one in 5 seconds. Just googled "Investment Club Loughton". (Had it not been Loughton in Milton Keynes but Loughton Essex, I might have joined.)

Of course failing that, why not start your own?
