you may find they're "souvenir" tickets, i know a lot of stadium gigs (or atleast ones i go to - AC/DC, Bon Jovi) tend to be this variety and are only sent out about a month before the gig - bit of a pain! But atleast with Seatwave & others (unsure really, but i think TM have their own) allow you to sell them for face value, meaning you'll lose booking & postage - which is rubbish, but ultimately no different to losing a deposit i guess!

Does remind me of a T in the Park years ago where i litterally recieved my ticket at 9am on the Friday as my bus left at 11am after about a dozen phonecalls to the ticket agent!

  • Minds me of the University and why the poor students could not have a concert in 1998. Explanation came via the entertainments rep on the Union that due to some outrage at a Eddie and the Hot Rods gig in 1978, concerts are banned.

Did not have the heart to tell my fellow classmates that I was at said concert, and the 500 word disertations we have to do on the Monday morning after, suffice to say I can still hear the college lecturer murmer that the Principal had agreed that all those under 18 would not have attended, and hence we would be let off. Words such as "Let that be a lesson to you!" made you get the message as 7 year two apprentices were summariliy [STRIKE]executed[/STRIKE] kicked off the courses.

I cannot vouch for some part time club pianist though, but I fear he woooos the ladies.

Correct advice ? I told the OP she could ask around friends , family or neighbours to try to sell the tickets OR that Gumtree or Ebay would be other options...
To be fair you claimed that those were her "only" options, which is what he took exception to.
  • I understand that you have been hacked before on your ebay account, but the chances of it happening again are small if you make sure you have a good anti-virus on your computer and that its kept up to date! Ebay though is a really good option for selling your tickets quickly, its pretty much the main contender when it comes to second hand sales! Also, you can make a tidy profit! I bought some tickets for Derren Brown recently that I couldnt go to, I put them on at the price I paid for them (to make sure I recouped my costs) and have ended up making a £50 profit :)
Other than that, if it really puts you off, then another site you could use to sell is https://www.getmein.com.
6 debts down - 1 to go: just over £1000 though, soon soon....

Staying happy and positive through 2011 (hopefully!) :j

Maybe you would like to point out what exactly is incorrect in my post ?

You think that just because you come along with a "Plan B" that makes YOU right and ME wrong ?

You think that just because you know another option which the OP can take it makes the advice given by all the other posters on the thread "misleading" ?

God...some people and their own self importance:rotfl:

sorry there sweet pea but did you or did you not offer this advice?
....failing that Gumtree or Ebay is your only choice

So its not their only choice is it. And thus you were wrong. You had plan B as you state and you told them that that was their only choice. I came along with plan C which shows that your plan B of only ebay or gumtree to be factually wrong.

You want to argue any more about that? Or are you going to admit you were wrong?
    one of the famous 5:kiss:

I know the thread is fast moving but do at least try to keep up...

    Let me explain....

When I offered my advice to the OP (this is a forum for advice etc isnt it?) I wasnt aware of this "seatwave" (or whatever its called) so , the information I offered was information that I was aware of at the time . Now , as I wasnt aware of Seatwave when I made the post , it would be impossible for me to mention it , wouldnt you agree ?

You then came along and posted that She had the added option of using "Seatwave" . You were able to offer this advice because obviously you were aware of Seatwave!

So....everything contained in my post is accurate as I believed it to be at the time of posting and is correct .

If you would like to continue arguing the matter out then go ahead , I havent much planned for the day.....
The loopy one has gone :j

... "Failing that, Gumtree (1) or Ebay (2) is your only choice". You did give other options, but then said there were only 2 more ways to sell the ticket which was wrong. Hope that clarifies things. :)
