Last year vefore my trip to South africa I rang Lloyds TSB and told them I was going and the man laughed, he said I didn't need to inform them of my travel plans :o
So I should think you'll be ok, wish I was going there, I love Scotland.

ETA I just thought, are you driving up? If so, check on tinternet where there are supermarkets close to the M6 etc so you can get cheaper fuel and snacks :)

Ah. I've rung to inform of holidays, and they usually just say they've put a note on the account (lloyds). I had to pay particular attention last year because I went through 3 countries in a week and it probably would have been harder to spot any strange behaviour.

I had to have my card verified at the Asda where I worked! I got paid my wages and my student loan on the spending day. So spent so much money that day! Asda have phones you use at the checkout and they phone the company, but it was a very bad line!
  • Best thing to do is make sure you have an alternative method of payment all the time.
Even tho you have informed your bank/credit card company etc your card could still be blocked/declined.
  • We do accept Bank of England notes up here, avoid the Clydesdale atm,s though as they dish out monopoly money.
I have a deep burning indifference
