What's your feeling about this?
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

One of my very biggest pet hates.
The first time I took my baby to Tescos when he was about 3 weeks old there was a woman who seemed to be in every aisle we went to hacking and coughing all over the place, not even bothering to turn her head from our direction and sometimes basically coughing over my tiny baby, I flipped in the end and shouted for her to cover her mouth but I don't think she did anything.
Dirty habit from dirty people, as bad as eating with your mouth open, yuk!:staradmin0 -
I agree that coughing over people is disgusting, but coughing into your hand will spread the germs etc. onto everything you touch.Imagine how many things a person will pick up in a supermarket. Ideally coughing into a tissue is better or at least the back of your hand.
I was in a fish and chip shop a few years ago where the guy serving made a big effort to turn away from the food area to cough (into his hand) and then go back and carry on serving....pointless.0 -
I tend to cough into the crook of my arm, no idea why I started to but now know that its the in thing in the States - the fabric traps the germs and is currently believed to be less likely to spread germs than using the hand. That said, I am still coughing following pneumonia at Xmas and at times it has been absolutely non stop, even once I had been told I was no longer contagious. With shopping bags in one hand and a 3yr old holding the other, covering my mouth wasn't always practical or even possible!0

Also, you are actually far more likely to catch a cold from touching something than breathing the germs in from the air, so it can actually be 'better' to cough in the air than use your hand! that said, I still think its horrible.0
