Maybe we can share our excitement!?!

Absolutely!! :) lol I wonder how many other people from this area are on here. So where abouts are you doing the deed? Hants or Lincs?
  • Lincs hopefully.....need to call the churchwarden today actually.....might do that now....she's been on holiday, but we're starting to get worried that they might not be available on 12th May 2012, & I have my heart set on that date....(both our Bdays are on the 12th of the month, 3 months apart, so I thought that would be nice. The 12th only falls on a Sat twice in 2012, May & Oct, & May is 3 months ahead of his Bday, so would be kinda special)....wish me luck!

    Soooo did you phone her??
Dates are important to us too :) We met on Saturday 17th July (1999 eek). So in my head (once I had decided that we would marry) we would get married on that date too. However, by the time MrD had agreed (Feb 2010) there was only 5 months until Saturday 17th July which was just way too fast for him (and me) to get my head around it. The next time it falls on a Saturday is 2021, and there is no way I'm waiting that long. So we chose next year. Still marrying on the 17th but it falls on a Tuesday. So we're having a registry office ceremony that day for immediate family, n a big party on the Saturday for everyone else. :)

Oh that sounds brilliant Lisa!! :) It is funny - I've gone from "I'll just wear jeans and trainers to spending hours and hours drooling over pretty dresses"! I'm interested in your thoughts on Bride at Joan Anthony if you have any :) (Lovely to get unbiased opinions!)

I am proposing going to B@JA for 10am then going for lunch (any suggestions gratefully received) then going to BDS for 1pm. :) That way I can be really pampered. Lol will just have to make sure I don't eat too much at lunch so I don't bloat myself lol.

Bride at Joan ANthony looks pretty good! Didn't go there myself but have seen nice dresses in the window.

As for lunch......Scunny is pretty rubbish TBH!!! DO you want pub food or a cafe or there's a nice italian that opens as a cafe in the day time. Let me know what kind of thing you want and I'll have a think!

Ooo now what sort of food will we want :) Decisions decisions. I will keep you in mind Lisa and ask you for recommendations closer to the date. Thank you!
  • Yes! When I told her we were worried about availability of a vicar, she said 'we'll make sure they are!' so fingers crossed May 12th 2012 it is! Have just this minute emailed her the details so she can get it booked! Feels more real already.... :-D . Your plans sound like the perfect solution to your Saturday quandry! Really pleased for you :-) . Have you decided on venues?

:) we have. We're having the ceremony at Louth registry office - with 17 immediate family members invited. (I suspect only 4 of them will actually be able to attend due to the day - lol such a shame!) Then the party we'll be having at our house. I'm thinking just a big party rather than a wedding reception - speeches are banned (and I've included that on the invite design), no first dance, no cutting the cake etc. And we'll be inviting 57 in total to that (so far anyway). :) It is exciting... just a shame it's so far away lol.
  • Really sorry, just realised that I never responded to this!!!! Sounds perfect! :-)
