Car insurance, drink driving question.

I am currently serving a ban for drink driving.. I received 15 months from the magistrates court with the course which will reduce it to just under 12. On obtaining quotes do i put 12 or 15 months banned for? Also, i am going to be a named driver on my partners policy which her renewal is due end of May. My ban isn't up till the end of June, would she be able to give my details when she renews if i am still serving the ban? as we pay monthly for insurance and if we have to cancel a policy and go elsewhere we will have to pay 2 large deposits in 2 successive months.

I wouldnt hold your breath about going on your gfs policy.
Few insurers will accept you after a ban of this sort.

She should ring them and ask first. Apart from that she may not want you on her policy when she sees what the premiums will be.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

you have to state the ban served so if you are doing the course it will be 12 months. As you wont have your licence back by the time of your partners renewal they wont take you into account as you are technically still disqualified. You will have to wait until you actually get your licence back as now alot of companies are requesting a copy of your driving licence when new policies are set up. I've just renewed mine today with a new company and that is what they requested.

    Hope that helps
