If it was so dangerous she shouldnt have kept driving it.
As for the answer taking out all the irrelevant emotion.
Its a 6 year old car near enough. It will be an after market warranty and won't cover this namely due to wear and tear and the fact the damage has been accelerated by poor maintainence.
The OP can shop around but no one is going to do this on warranty or contribute.0
