Sending money to Taiwan as USD

Not strictly travel but Ifelt this would be the best forum.
I need to transfer £4K to Taiwan, transferred as USD. I imagine bank transfer is the best and standard way. There tends to be a standard charge of about £20, which is quite similar for all the banks.
Is this the case and do exchange rates tend to vary between them? I will check on Monday at the banks but I thought I'd see if anyone knew the best of way of doing it.
