Thanks for that...Do you have a number for the Mac support. I'm sure I have made the right choice moving to Mac, it's just very confusing at the moment. I need to transfer all my photos and I can't set up my printer. Thanks for your support and help though.0

Copy your pictures from PC to external HDD
To set up printer click the apple in top left of screen, go to system preferences then select print and fax. Don't forget to get the latest drivers from the manufacturers website.
You definitely made the right choice switching to Mac. You will never want to use windows again. Great to see another convert. It said on the box requires Windows 7 or better, so I bought a MAC0 -
You will have Apple Mail installed on your new Mac, that does the same job as OE.
To install the printer you will need to go to the manufacturer's support site and download the drivers for Mac OSX (though IIRC, a Mac should detect the printer when connected and offer to find and install the correct drivers for you)?No free lunch, and no free laptop

As for moving your emails over,
Your need to get the dbx files (outlook express file) that contains your emails and convert them to a mbox file!
Now theirs programs you can buy to do this,
ie
http://www.convertmyemail.com/outlook-express-to-mac-mail.php
http://www.dbxconv.com/mbox/
http://www.techhit.com/messagesave/
But NO.. here is a free one (well open source) its PC console based (sorry)
http://www.pendriveapps.com/dbxconv-dbx-to-mbox-or-eml-mail-converter/
looking at the options (as i haven't tested this myself) it looks like the defaults will be okay so you just need to get the dbx file and drop them on the app..
So
1. download dbxconv.zip
2. extract dbxconv.exe (put it in a folder called Emails)
3. get the dbx files
3.1 open outlook express and go to Tools -> Options -> Maintenance -> Store Folder your see where the dbx file are stored (copy it)
3.2 goto that path and copy the dbx file to your new "Emails" folder
3.3 now drag the dbx on to the dbxconv.exe and it should do the work for you
3.4 get your new mbox files and copy them to a FAT32 formatted USB stick and take them to your new Mac
4. Now open MacMail and go File > Import Mailboxes, Select MBOX files and then select your new mbox files and your done :-)Press any other key to continue.0 -
Are you using IMAP or POP3 server for your e-mail?
When downloading mail into outlook from a POP3 server the mail is then deleted from the server.
With IMAP the mail is kept on the server until you delete it, so any messages you have not deleted will still be available to you.It said on the box requires Windows 7 or better, so I bought a MAC0 -
Thanks, I have been following the instructions to set up the Epson printer and can't go past a certain stage. I do get this message though:-
"AirPort has the self-assigned IP address 169.254.200.24 and will not be able to connect to the Internet."
Is this stopping the printer being installed?
Thanks0 -
How are you trying to connect the printer-network printer or USB?
