My daughter has just bought a new laptop and this morning she has spilt a cup of tea on the key board what if anything can she do to save it? Will this ruin the laptop completely?

yes ,
remove battery , if possible remove keyboard (they either pop out by pushing small clips back along the top or there is a removable plastic strip at the top which hides the screws ) and then leave for a day or so to dry
as long as it boots up after that then it may work but if coffes run through the whole thing into the hard drive is probably dead

You're on a losing battle. Did the drink have sugar in it? I'd just claim on the insurance.Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0
