I am looking for a decent mp3 player with the capability to listen to medium wave as I frequently listen to talksport. Can anyone recommend any to me?

TalkSh*te? You're better off without.
As far as I know, there are no MW/mp3s but you could get a portable DAB/mp3 and hear the bigotry, bile and general ignorance in crystal clear digital!I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.

Thanks KillerWatt, I had a look at your links and they are indeed hard to find in the UK.
WhiteChristmas! I did nto think about DAB to MP3. Do you of any sub £50 ones?0 -
Portable DAB radios tend to be bulky, expensive, very heavy on batteries, and give poor reception when on the move - I wouldn't recommend it.WhiteChristmas! I did nto think about DAB to MP3. Do you of any sub £50 ones?
Have you thought about getting a cheap portable FM/MW radio (this Sony is less than a tenner, and absolutely tiny) and a separate mp3 player (like a 4GB Sansa Clip for about £35)? Yes, it's two devices to carry around, but even put together they will still be smaller, lighter and cheaper than a portable DAB/MP3 player. You could always sellotape them back to back if you want.poppy100 -

I've been using a Philips DA1102 for two or three years having picked it up for £25 from Argos; it's a great wee machine; about the size of a fag packet. DAB and 1GB mp3.
The odd new-old-stock one seems to go through eBay for about £30 these days.I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.

I use a Cowon D2+, which combines a DAB/FM radio with a 8 Gbyte MP3. It has a rechargeable battery and I think the battery life is good.
I bought it about a year ago for £116, but it was discontinued shortly after I bought it. I'm not aware of any MP3 players with DAB currently available.0 -
what is the reason why it seems like they are discontinuing dab + mp3 together? I thought dab is supposed to be alot clearer than the standard fm radio you usually get with mp3 players.0
