Spotted this one this morning...
Citibank has withdrawn FLEXIBLE SAVER w.e.f. close of business 13.11.06 and launched Issue 2 w.e.f. 14.11.06.
FLEXIBLE SAVER Issue 2: an instant access account with a minimum investment of £1 paying 5.45% monthly.
Rate includes 0.56% bonus for 6 months.
All internet transactions via a nominated account. Cash card available.
Available to those aged 18 and over only.
Available to new customers only.

Are financial institutions still 'allowed' to disadvantage/discriminate against existing customers? Is there nothing in the Banking Code about this?

Looked at the website and the first thing I noticed was 5.45% Gross and 5.29% AER so there are still higher paying account out there (ICICI and Icesave are the ones I know of the top of my head).0
