I am absolutely fed up with my upstairs tiled shower. No matter what I try the flippin thing eventually leaks.
I have now come to the conclusion that I want to rip out the the existing shower and replace it with a leak proof pod.
I have been looking at the various types by Coram, Douglas James and Kinedo.
Can anyone here recommend any particular type? Has anyone had any problems with these shower pods?
Any help and advice would be much appreciated, cheers.

Good morning: my OH fit this at the insistence of a mate last year. Could be a very fiddly install. Btw...a popular option across the pond.

Hi - had a pod installed a few years ago in my son's bathroom - it's great. Keeps the steam in the pod and not the room; no leaks; has normal shower head, Monsoon head and side massage jets, plus radio, telephone and light. Cost around £600 + £450 to fit (!). That included a pump (if you don't have a combi boiler then you have to have pump). Can't remember the make - sorry!
Have now just fitted myself a new pod in me and the wife's bathroom - It's an Aqualux - basic pod, cost £559 from 4bathrooms in Wolverhampton - no light or phone, but much the same as above. It was a pig to build, and getting the base level on old floor boards is not fun and takes forever. To be honest, the quality of this one is not as good as the previous one - better to go and see them before you buy. (Also, didn't come with the supply hoses - watch out - the connectors on the pod are 1/2" so you need a reducing bush to make them fit!).
Have fun.0 -
I originally bought a pod before installing the current shower but was very disappointed with the quality. Probably a cheap chinese import, therefore I sent it back.
I don't mind paying for a good quality one this time, which is why I am attracted to the Douglas James and Coram types as they offer very good guarantees.
I was just wondering if anyone has any experience of using these makes and if they would recommend them?0 -
Why on earth would you want a phone in your shower???????????

I realise that but I seriously cannot be bothered any more. It is really disheartening.0
