Just opened a savings account with Icesave but before depositing any cash i researched Landsbanki - it looks as though it has only been registered in the UK since July of last year, even though it is established in Iceland.
Not sure if it is good to invest if this is true. I know if they close your capital is guaranteed but your interest is not.
Any advice????

Established in Iceland for over a century, I believe, and UK consumers are covered by exactly the same level of FSA protection as those of any 'better-known' company.0

Elmooro - the same was true of ING when they opened a couple of years ago and there's been no trouble with them.0
