How long does it take to get debit card from Santander

On Feb 4th, I received a new debit card. Turns out they sent out a card to an account that I closed last spring and cancelled my existing current account debit card.:mad::mad::mad:
Went to the branch on 5th Feb to order a new card. I did phone the call centre and they told me that I had to do this in a branch.:mad: Told me 7-8 working days. Today is the 10th working day.:mad:
As my flat is 8 mins walk away from work, I have been popping over there during my lunch break to see if my card has arrived. The postie comes about 10:30-11:00.
Then yesterday, I heard about two people having to wait a WHOLE MONTH to receive their debit cards. One was damaged and the other was stolen.
I am seriously worried that I won't get my debit card in time for my holiday on 6th March. I am a regular debit card user and only have £10 max in my purse 99% of the time.

It'll be much quicker to open a new account elsewhere, I know it sounds a drastic resolution, but you'll be able to free yourself from Santander.0

Hit the nail on the head there - exactly what I was going to suggest.
Seems the majority are getting away from Santander on here. With poor customer service reviews and general poor service with customers being talked about regularly on here.
I would get switching

As a postie I,m not going to make you think Royal Mail is anything special,however in a choice between believing them or Satandire,I would always believe them.
More likely is that santandire,s mailing list is not being kept up to date.I have a deep burning indifference0 -

debit cards are sent via a company called DX, nearly all companies use them to send debit cards. However DX are TERRIBLE!
Anyhow they hand deliver, if there is no one home. Then they cant deliver.0
