Apple

13 year old broke her ipod touch that she got for Xmas. I trooped into town worrying about how much it was going to cost to get fixed (the screen was all cracked from where she had dropped it). I had to make an appointment to see a geek who would take a look at it - this annoyed me because I thought it was all a bit pretentious - like you were seeing a doctor! However my annoyance went straight out the window when the geek said he would give me a brand new i pod to replace it for NOTHING!!! :j I had no receipt with me for the broken one, I admitted it was daughter's fault it was broken and I had no extended warranty - yet they gave me a new replacement one!! I am so pleased :T
(Comet could do with a few lessons in customer service from this lot - try taking back a faulty kettle with a receipt to that bunch of clowns and they wriggle like snakes in a bag to try and get out of replacing it)

  • I've also praised Apple customer service in the past. Def one of the best companies I've had dealings with.

Apple are great like that, but then their stuff is so overpriced, you're kinda owed a few for what you pay.

You were almost in danger of talking yourself out of a replacement, but they pulled through! Hurrah!

If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Reminds me of a guy who I upset the other day.

me: gotta send your laptop away for repair.

him: Whaaaaaat? I use it to run my business....

me: Business use? That's not covered under warranty...

him: How dare you tell me how to use my laptop. If I want it to run 24 hours a day, I will!

me: :s. If you've left it on that long, no wonder it's overheated. I'll send it away anyway, but Toshiba are probably going to bill you for misuse if they discover how long it's been left on.

him: No! I want to speak to your manager.

*manager comes along and he explains how he's been running a business from a bottom end laptop, leaving it on constantly for a few months*

her: Business use and clear misuse. We are not even going to touch it. *sends him away*

moral of this story: If you're bringing things back, try not to say anything that will invalidate the warranty!
  • Typical, you should have clipped the miscreant for misusing the trinket, ranted and raved, stomped your feet and really let off. But no, you comes on here and ...

As all apple products cost around twice as much as they should they can afford to give you another one :)
  • Another case of "you get what you pay for". I'm very happy to pay for a product that is going to last, cause me minimal annoyance, and with Apple they always deliver the best service if and when you need it. And free training on how to use their products and programs properly.
