Electoral Roll - Higher Credit Rating??

Hello again MSE-ers!
Brief history to preclude question:
Went to UNI, have quit susequently quit and recently moved into a new address in uni town.
I cannot for the life of me remember whether I am registered to my old UNI house (privately tenanted/shared) or whether I am on the electoral roll at my parent's address - I do know I can't be registered in my current recently moved into address however.
From my understanding, it seems like the lowering of credit scoring from saying I am living with my parents rather than in a tenanted furnished property is offset by the fact that I can say I have lived with my parents' since we moved into the house (over 15years) rather than my current address of a few months. Also the area itself is more likely to increase my credit rating than my current address - according to https://www.checkmyfile.com.
Questions concerning this:
1. Do Credit Card companies exclusively look at Electoral Roll history in terms of address history?
2. Am I right in terms of my credit accessment of the situation?
3. I will call both counsels tomorow to find out where I am currently registered - if I am registered to my old UNI house address and IF I can register to my parents address with the end of telling Credit Card companies that is my address - would the gap while away at UNI alter the answer to question 2?
Bit of a long read - thanks for all your help in advance!

**Update** -
I have contacted both councils (uni-town one were damn rude, home town one were very freindly and helpful - go go customer service!)
Anyhow I am and always have been registered with my home address - so bear that in mind when answering my questions please.
Thanks again in advance.0 -
have you ever seen a copy of your credit file ? most have linked addresses on, taken from info the lenders share about the movement of credit agreements.
so answer to Q1 is NO - they do not exclusively use electoral roll for address history.
Q2 - YES - in my opinion your assessment of the situation is correct, but, agin just my opinion, Checkmyfile are talking utter crap ! Think about it from a risk point of view. Who is likely to have more money to pay credit back : someone living with parents, or someone paying high rent ?
The score they generate is meaningless, as every lender has their own set of rules for scoring. The length of time at an address can be a positive, but most lenders would ask for a previous address anyway, which would link them to your parents address.
Q3 - if you have not had any credit at the old uni address, I doubt any lenders will know there was a gap. To them it looks like you have lived at your parent's address all the time, until the recent move to the new address.
Bear in mind that if you have little or no credit history, you can "opt in" and ask the lender to take into account the credit history of your parents in their decision making.Karma is a wonderful thing.
