    Today I...

    * was paid £7.65 from Quidco
    * bought £450 premium bonds for my emergency fund from September savings
    * resisted buying usual Friday night junk/snacks and made a lovely dinner from stores instead
  • Hiya. Haven't posted for a while but in the meantime I havepaid off myoverdraft which has been hanging around like a bad smell for quite a few years. Baby M was born 6 weeks ago which has vastly decreased our going out and spending-hence overdraft gone so except the mortgage we are entirely debt free which is a lovely feeling!
-3 nsd this week so far (lots of free things to do with baby!)
-bought fruit from Aldi rather than Tesco
-researching home made/personal xmas pressies-will be on SMP by xmas so need to do xmas on shoestring and hope family and friends will understand given the circs-thinking home made fruit liquers (seems to be a case of getting hold of some fruit/vofdka and a few other bits)-although could be disaster...

    This weekend I have:
    • Done some more Xmas shopping while I have the spare money and the luxury of time instead of panic buying everything. It's all nearly done now and for a fraction of the price I normally spend
    • Wrapped up said Xmas shopping
    • Gone yellow sticker hunting in Mr M getting sandwich steaks, BBQ beef burgers, chunky cod steaks and a pasta ready meal for lazy times for £3.96 instead of £12.20 saving £8.24
    • Planned meals around above and written a shopping list for Thursday
    • Done some research online to see where I can get a cheap traditional Scottish meal in Edinburgh considering me and the OH are off for a minibreak from tomorrow
    • Joined some challlenges on the boards to keep motivated
    • Cashed out £5 amazon voucher on swagbucks (that's £15 in 10 days now :D)
    • Had a look around a carboot for something to do but didn't get anything
    • Listed some items on ebay to end next Sunday
    • Switched eletricity supplier as Southern Electric are raising their prices soon
    • Written to Thames Water to try and get the overpayment on my account back
Phew! Thats all I can remember now.
    2015 Wins
    1st Win! - £50 Asda Gift Card
    2nd Win! - £25 Tesco Gift Card
  • Thank you cod3-moneysaving's now extra important!

    Today I...

    - Listed one thing on ebay. Yes ONE thing! Took me ages as I have not done it for years. Had a couple of heart-stopping moments when the screen went blank after uploading loads of photos and I suddenly remembered why I hate listing on ebay!

    - Went shopping for food using cash only. This new tactic will hopefully curb our spending.

    - Typed up this week's menu and will print it off at work tomorrow. Sick of the kids saying we have no food in the house so I now print a menu of all the the possible meals available with the ingredients we have and stick it on the fridge door. Now I can just point at the menu and shake my head when they want to go to the shops. Saves my breath and hopefully some money too. I don't fancy a rigid meal plan so this is a compromise.
