**Delisted shares, and Administration!!! HELP!!!**

Hi,

I bought £1200 of Actif Group plc shares who went into administration about three months ago. I contacted the administrators, and they say that DB Actif, and Actif Retail, have been put into administration, and not Actif Group PLC.

They gave me an address for correspondance, and a telephone number. I gave it a call, and the two parts of Actif Group mentioned above have been bought by L Wear Ltd. The person I spoke to from L Wear said that Actif Group had no assets. I don't understand why as they haven't yet gone into administration. The trouble is that Actif Group PLC and L wear both appear to have the same address for correspondence.

As Actif Group PLC have not gone into administration, who is now responsible for my shares? As I see it, Actif Group are still alive, but barely. However, the administrator, Kroll, have told me that 'as the Joint Administrators have not been appointed over Actif Group plc they can not comment on the situation in respect of your shares.'

So what should I do now????? I'm completely confused as to whether or not I have lost all the money, but nobody seems to be able to give me a concrete answer as to what is happening with the original company I bought my shares with (Actif Group PLC)

HELP!!!!!!

:o  :T

Well, it does look as though you have lost or are going to lose all your money - but it's not yet 'official'.

When it is 'made official' you will be able to claim the full amount of your loss with the tax man against your other Capital Gains when you send in your tax return.

Not much else you can do really other than wait. If you are on 'the company's' share register it will be the duty of the administrator to notify you in a way which will allow you to do this. It could easily take about a year or so.

    Have a nice Christmas.

Perhaps it might be an idea to decide not to make 'high risk investments' like this in the future. By that, I mean 'buying shares in very small plc's in the AIM market'.

I have an HSBC invest direct account, and have not done a tax return yet, should I be worried??? I've had it for about a year. I assume they come through at the end of the financial year?

How successful are the claims you've talked about? And roughly how long do they take to come through.

Thanks for all the help. I appreciate what you say about high risk. I have both types of growth and value investment shares. As I wanted to try both areas of investment. Forunately, I made more than enough to cover my seemingly large loss.

What do you think of using the exchange rate to make money. For example buying Wal Mart shares now when the US exchange rate is high, and selling when the mid rates drop. This seems like such an easy way to make money, or am I still continuing in my novice footsteps!!

    Thanks for all your help!
