How do Santander know my "other" email address?

I signed up with Santander simply to bag the £100 fee.

I got an acknowledgement email ..... but to an address i was quite sure i didn't submit on the form.

I cocked the application up, rang their helpline, who told me to apply again, email customer services to cancel the first & then sit tight.

So i did, and made a mental note of which email address i used. Let's call it address 1 & the one they sent to beforehand was (somehow) address 2, which i'd not told them of.

So i for 100% sure put down on my 2nd aplication, address 1.

Guess where their acknowledgement email ends up? Yes - address 2 again.

What's the crack here then? How on earth do they even know about it?

I'd pay £100 to not have to have an account with them.

Not bad. With the £100 they should be giving me & the £50 quidco should be giving me, that makes £250.

I'm assuming i have your word on the £100? ;)

I don't ever remember giving Santander my address before, but who knows what goes on.
It's just strange they didn't reply to the email address i submitted. Shows what this bank is like i suppose.

Not to worry. As soon as i get my money, i'm gone :)

They sent me a letter addressed to me in a name I'd never given them and there was no way they could have known. When I rang them and asked them where the heck they had got it from they were as baffled as me..
