I keep meaning to tell you that when I first read your posts & you mentioned RV, I thought you meant Recreational Vehicle, like the Americans call their motor homes.

Candles finished - got enough wax out of 4 "dead" candles to fill two large jars and have enough for a small one left over. :j Will definitely do this again! Going to keep a tub for dead candle bits and save them up
May I ask how much the wicks were please? I have loads of used church candle 'stubs' I could reuse.:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

Thanks but not got any pmsin inbox?
Do hope its not me who went too topic yesterday as had really bad day and did vent a little as feel as if im amongst freinds on this thread.
Agreed this thread been moved from one board to the next, rules changed then locked, some old timers who used to post dissapeared like annie 56 and sammy k,some new people too its bound to be unsettleing.
Will post my housing issues on housing board as feel stressed we may have to find 3grand next year and somewhere else to move too.:(housing kindof tough issue for me as private tennant feel like get treated badly with not much security.
Would love to own but so far off at moment.
The subject of my stepson may be not so finely put into words may is feel sad he doesnt look after anything or apprceiate anything we get him.
My eldest daughter turned 5last week doesnt appreciate the effort or her pressies as she had too much.
Think theres so much pressure for parents to get what the child wants sometimes when they skint themselves my lesson learnt is buy less.
But adults are just as bad all my mates have to upgrade to latest phone or gadget despite being in debt or skint hardly sets good exampletokids,1mumonline selling perfectly good hardly used ds so she can upgrade her 7year old tothe dsi which plays the same games.
Best present we can give them is to think for themselves not follow the crowd, realise good things come to those who wait and teach them how to budget and manage money.
Please forgive me behind withmy tv watching and sky plus a lot.
Watched the peoples supermarket really quite into the idea.
Wish there was one local to me.
I was shocked how much people waste by buying too much and people expect so much choice which causes more waste.
Hugh at rc covered mishapen fruit and veg supermarkets reject could be sold very cheaply and help thes supplier cut down on waste and I wouldent mind a bent cucumber for 30p:rotfl:
Just think if pennies are limited its shame people dont have access to cheap fruit and veg.lids and aldis seem best but the big 4 find fruit and veg quite pricey and not great quality and not everyones lucky enough to have independants near by.
Loved the idea of peoples kitchen too inspired me to try and cut down on our food waste and be more inventful with our left overs.
Going to see whats in my fridge that I can save and make into something new!:D
loved the test family cant remember if they said shes family of 6 or she has 4kidsplus 2adults but she seemed bit clueless and herkids very fussy/skeptical.Said she spent 200quid a week and shopped most days, thourght blimey thats 800quid a month .
Then he went to her house and it was a mansion not sure if shes very rich or indebt as was central london combined with so many kids and spending 800quid a month on groceries wondered how she coped.
But then thourght lets not be too judgental.
Think we all shop in sameway we expect several different ranges and several brands of same products she dident understand how to shop a small supermarket with less choice. She had limited cooking skills and was stuck in a rut.
Even arthurr himself when planning the dinner party initially overspent
Realised im stuck in a rut recently.Need to get more veggies into our diet to cut costs.need more variety.:(
Im bit bored of eating same flipping thing.
Its party I been tired but also hubbie loving his meat and moaning if its missing.
need to think outside box.
So until pay day on15th going to try and eat whats in freezer and in our cupboards might have to restock milk as managed to get through 36pints last week and still yet to christen the breadmaker.
Was planning a day decluttering but eldest freind came round for unexpected playdate and stayed for 2hours:eek:and made mess.
Got to pay for car this week, paid deposit quite scary hoping the switch from petrol to diesil will save on fuel costs but reckon with all thats going on in middle east both will go up.
So once cars paid we back to being poor:(but money well spent and less in tax/insurance:j
Got a few costs for march after very expensive feb to get out way.
budgets in march cant wait.
Thinking april baby shouldbe here by then.willbe super frugal from april onwards as thats when cuts hit and not sure what will go up in budget.
Thinking might try and get shoe rack under stairs incupboard of doom.
look on freecycle now we got bigger car can buy 2ndhand furniture for house every shabby chic and get huge cupbaord to fit in hallway and call it the pantry as kitchen too small and feel the need to stockpile on few things over next fewmonths before inflation hits 5percent.If only Icouldfit 2nd freezer in somewhere?.
Read the bank of england committee still cant agree on interest rates.
have nasty feeling they will hikenand steeply at wromg time as combined with cuts and rising inflation people will really feel it makesmuch more sense for gradual increase now be procative than reactive as reckon inflation will become a problem in next 6months.
Anyway enough gailey thougrhts/rambling:rotfl:
hope everyones having nice weekend.:)

Interest rates - well..the number of people on the relevant committee that are voting to increase them is getting higher. 'Twas 3 people last time round from memory.
My feelings - it will be enough people on this committee agreeing to higher interest rates that those rates will be with us within next 3 months. 'Course - tis just a personal reading of the situation here...as I am watching them from my personal POV with a personal take on this of "I wanna be able to keep savings safe - when am I going to be able to?" - though do realise that people both sides of the "equation" have different viewpoints on this and most people will take the one that suits them personally best.0 -

Do you use wick sustainers in your jars and what/how do you hold the wick straight. May sound like a stupid question:o but having had a quick look for info -it looks like you need a lot of equipment and I want to do this as cheaply as possible of course!:D
