Congrats Mary! :j
Charis, hope you're ok and not too freaked out by noises etc. I've heard some odd thumps and things but turned out it was just something falling off precarious piles of stuff in the hall.
Fletch, Aarons Mummy and anyone else - don't be put off, there are no requirements for "joining"! Everyone is welcome here and you can just drop in and out posting when you feel like it.
My brain is fried as I'm so tired this evening. It was only about 30 seconds ago I read the carrot cake recipe and already I forget who posted it - so sorry! Thanks for sharing it, it sounds yummy and I was going to vote for the carrot cake muffins too!
Fab post Budgetboo! :TTrying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

*Sniff* I feel quite tearful to be home, I've missed you guys...it's odd isn't it that a group of strangers (well some of you are a bit odd
) can have such a positive affect on one's life...
Thanks to Andrea for making this happen and thanks to Jackie G for starting the new thread, it's lovely to see the support happening already.
fletch3163 don't worry about dropping in and out, I often feel bad that I dip in and out and don't have chance to provide comment and support for all, I feel that I can't recognise others in the wonderful way that some do. Welcome Aaron's Mummy (I'm not sure that's quite right - sorry!) as well.
It appears, that OH now has A JOB!!! We still don't know how many hours but it's for a new business that is really taking off and the owner is keen to give him as much work as he can....so it looks like one of us has a job. Actually the guy is looking so busy that there might be a job for me, not in my profession but right now paid work would be good
Lovely to see you all *wipes nose on sleeve*Piglet

where it fits best!! I'm sure we're going to see things getting a lot tougher before long..Resolution:

Now all I need is for the lottery numbers to come up tonight!!It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -

I've just received a challenge from one of my knitting forums to knit only from my stash this year.
*Grabs paper bag to prevent hyperventilation*
So I've started a hat with some sock yarn held double. I'm not going to make any socks out of it any time soon. Although actually...
I've got so much wool that I could start a shop. And I need new jumpers.
Hmm.
Wonder if I've got enough of any one colour to fit my rather buxom frame? Stripes are OBVIOUSLY out.
I think I'll just carry on with the hat for the time being while I think. This time last year I would just have gone out and bought the jumper, so congrats to you all on making me think twice.0 -

Knitting only from my stash would not prove much of a limitation for me. I've probably got more yarn than John Lewis's haberdashery department!!
Now if they said I couldn't start anything new until I finished all the projects I have on the go.....
I'm so behind with finishing stuff, that things I started for last winter (ie not this one) will come in handy for next winter!!It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0
