Its just taken me an hour to catch up again! Hope everyone is ok today and mardatha hope the snow goes soon! Gailey I had dd at home and it was wonderful (apart from being interupted mid contraction by christmas carol singers!) my midwife went of to a xmas party after dd arrived...
wasnt allowed to have ds2 at home because he was a stubborn begger and wouldnt come out ,so at over 2 weeks late I had to be induced (then he arrived promptly within 2.5 hours!).
Have spent the past 2 days filling holes in my hallway as in my wisdom I thought it was a good idea to remove the very dated and wobbly hand rail....leaving huge holes up the wall. Luckily the guys who did my kitchen revamp left me a full tube of filler so its come in very handy! Still havent got the paint yet but want to get the prep right first so tomorrow am going to get it. I have decided to paint it all white to match the lounge so any touch ups in future can be done with one colour. I am also contemplating painting some funky stripes at the top of the stairs so it doesnt look too stark (am thinking teals and chocolate or copper/gold) but not sure how much sample pots cost so will find out tomorrow when I go .Very money saving chic...:)
Right off I go ...as kids have just arrived home from their dads -so have a good evening everyone xJAN GC- £155.77 out of £200FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. MARCH GC - out of £200

Before treatment I went to reception and asked if I could prepay part of the charge so it wouldnt be such a big lump to stump up at the end of the month - I asked how much it would be (I'm a NHS patient) . . . . . .
. . . . £198.00
for one flippin tooth!!  sheeeesh!
Paid £50 today so have another £148.00 to find at the end of the month. Guess the work trousers will have to hold out until I get paid at the end of April as this dental bill is going to wipe out all my spare cash (and more) for the rest of this month and all of next . . . . . daren't ask how much it would be if paying privately.
Looking on the bright side - still keeping the faith on the 'nothing new' pledge :rotfl: Sorted through my wardrobe and fished out all the clothes that I haven't worn for ages as too big/small/long/short and am now busy OS remodelling - keeps me busy, away from the biscuit tin in the evenings and getting some extra outfits for free
Some days (and today in particular) I long to be just a little bit rich!
We have just moved to a NHS dentist as our private one who was very good wanted £600 to redo my husbands broken crown!!!0 -
My god Ginny noooo! no weird dances outside - the neighbours will cart you away and start building a bonfire !!
I think we need to keep the hens in the house. If need be we can move out into the shed
Might be ready for them this weekend I hope :j Snow's all gone and even the rain seems to have stopped. Faint faint!0 -
GQ I used to work in the call centre for what was then a regional electricity board, and would get lots of people calling to ask for their "leccy rebate" generated by putting their coins into a meter which was set to collect a debt. We'd also get reports from meter readers or the Fraud team of strapped meters or black boxes that bypassed the meter altogether, which were freely available on Kirkby market in the early 1990's and would result in a coin meter that had no money in but showed usage of £200  !0

I am what is known a "stealth GWA"...that means you dont really know what you are dealing with -until the sun shines on my hair and then there is no mistaking! You know there is a temper (and boy, do I have one of those!) but just think its me being a woman - until the sun appear and it becomes clear!
:rotfl:
I am having the house valued tomorrow morning for a remortgage and I am really nervous. I am right on the cusp of what I need. This is it...saving of £173 per month is at stake. Fingers crossed for me please guys.0 -
My Ex always used to bypass the electric meter where ever we lived, he didn't bypass it completely, just partly to reduce the bill, I wonder if he still does, hmmm, maybe a call to his provider might be in order.
You can tell I'm in a bad mood today, lol, I had a text yesterday to tell me that redundancies had been announced at work yesterday & so I had a sleepless night last night. Contrary to all the promises that the redundancies would be shared between teaching staff & support staff, it's lots of the support staff going. We were informed in a letter last week that at least 2 senior management posts would go as their salaries exceed £50k. Whereas support staff salaries vary from £5k to £12k. We are hugely overstaffed on top as we have 7 Heads, but it's us at the lower end who are going to suffer, now there's a surprise!
These announcements came on top of discovering that the company that owns the company that hubby works for went into administration on Monday night.
Hubby gave me some extra money this month so it's being stashed into savings as some small buffer against what may come.

Fingers crossed here for you, Redlady!
Hugs, Hester. It makes me so cross - our organisation has been tight with the purse strings for the last two years, no pay rises, cutting benefits etc, and not replacing staff when we're so overstretched it's untrue. Then a couple of months ago they advertise 12 £60k new regional positions - that's the equivalent of almost 40 advisors on the ground
Still, if we don't win any of the new contracts, those regional director folk won't have anything to direct!0 -
Oh and I have just been advised by my wood man that he is increasing his prices with immediate effect - BY HALF!:eek: Add to that it cost me over £70 to fill the car for the first time and I am feeling it!
It looks as if it is beginning to bite.0
