I've always thought blackthorn and hawthorn were two different scrubby trees but may (pardon the pun) be completely wrong about that.;) And isn't it funny that gorse flowers smell like hot coconut.......

Thank you, that is very useful! I have been checking gas/elec prices this week as my current deal has just expired.... Br Gas came out cheapest, so as I don't qualify usually for free insulation, this makes the move even more worthwhile:D
On the subject of door to door salesmen, it's interesting to note someone having a good experience (thanks kitschy!) I have to admit to being too cynical to even contemplate an offer from a salesman. My advice would always be to listen (if you can really be bothered, they drone on and are too pushy for me:o) then take their literature and RESEARCH like mad for yourself! The only person who is interested in looking out for you is yourself. Everyone else is only after the business/commission etc
Of course, I'm sure all of you (including Catbells:D) already do this!0 -
The_Cat, if you have a nectar card you will also qualify for 10,000 nectar points a year if you sign up with BG for dual fuel, and there are points to collect for signing up for ddeb and online billing, and monthly for submitting meter reads monthly. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Cheers, that's decided it then! Guess what I'm gonna make my task for the day?!0 -
The trick is not to sign up for ddeb straight away, then on your sign up day, call them and ask to switch to ddeb, and open an online account and sign up for an online tarriff, with paperless billing, to maximise your points. pm me if you need any help I am nectar point maximising queenIt's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Chicken cacciatore is great for chicken thighs but it will make a small dent in your stores of tinned tomatoes:rotfl:
this is quite a good recipe and there is a video to go with it.

I make it without olives because I don't particularly like them but it's still good and any left over freezes wellIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -

And me. Not a big fan of lily's as inevitably something gets stained with the pollen before I'd had chance to remove the stamens <sigh>I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
