Do you really want to throw in the towel? Has he mentioned separation?
It is an incredibly stressful time having your baby in NICU - I speak from experience, our boy was 11 weeks prem. And just because your baby is not with you, doesn't stop you from suffering PND. It may be a good idea for you to speak with the NICU Counsellor (ask whether counselling services are available in your hospital, our NICU had two counsellors) or the NICU Matron; your HV (find out who it will be once baby is discharged); or even your GP. Reducing this area of stress might help you to view other things in your life - such as your relationship - more clearly.

Which does make me ask myself I must admit, 'how do all these asylum seekers and migrants seem to be able to claim anything and everything going'!
Because they aren't bringing in £45k a year to the household
In fact asylum seekers cannot claim 'everything and everything', they are not generally eligible for benefits; and migrants can only usually claim if they have paid NI abroad, unless they have been working here for over 2 years.0
