Halifax reward £1000 requirement for £5 reward

Hi folks. Can you tell me how long the £1000 has to be in the Halifax reward account to qualify for the £5 reward. Can i transfer it in & straight back out again or do i have to leave it in for a few days to qualify?

Lots of people transfer it in and straight back out again.

Thanks for reminding me I need to put another £300 in and out of my Reward account for this month. I rarely have £1000 at any one time!
  • No doubt all this faffing about for a fiver each month (me too x 2) is inflating GDP, RPI, CPI, etc etc!

no, it's costing Halifax a fiver.

if your concern is inflation, don't spend it.
  • I love getting my free fiver every month! Log in, transfer 1005 back into my current account, job done! Set up a dd for £1k to go in every month, its like taking candy from a baby!

£6.25 to be precise. They are paying £1.25 tax on your behalf.
  • LOL :) I'm just hoping the offer doesn't end anytime soon.

I dont think they are bad, once you get past setup kinda annoyed they dont keep you informed. But what bank pays £5 per account just to do nothing that you would do with anyother bank.
