  • I don't know what the problem with this is??

I am with Lloyds and still use a traditional Paying In book and when I want Cash I still write a cheque out

    PAY____CASH_____ or PAY_____SELF_____

I will continue to do so! In fact at the branch I use a lot of people do this still!

Halifax claim asking clients to start completing paper forms is more efficient. More efficient for them more like. I regularly pay bags of coins over the counter so yesterday when asked to complete a paying in slip I simply and politely told the cashier that I couldn't write. Problem solved!

I didn't even need to provide a signature. They dare not ask if I was joking would they? IMHO, the more customers do this, the sooner they will see the error of their ways.

    Get a life!
Bet you can count though as your coin bags would be correct.
If you cannot write, politely ask someone to help you complete the forms for you as you would ask other people to help you write out other forms/items in your day to day life, such as cheques, letters, birthday cards and so forth.....

The cashiers in the branch aren't responsible for the system, so why make life more difficult for them?
