maybe dont waste your time with avatar .... i did like it ... but i was so frustrated with it tbh ...
dark knight 3d on the IMAX oh yeah baby .... loved it ... christian bale was okish but Heath ledger what a performance ... Johnny Depp wouldve been proud to have done a performance like that ... put Jack Nicholoson to shame ... and he did great lol
I will watch it eventually. May have to watch it over a few days though.
I agree, Heath Ledger's performance was amazing. Such a great loss to the acting world.0 -
Have been reading your diary and have found it inspiring. Still a bit shy to do my own.
Just wanted to join the film chat.
All you need to know about Avatar is dancing with wolves in space with smurfs :rotfl:
Don't believe the hype, hurt locker deserved that Oscar. Glad Kings Speech won, miffed that Inception and Chris Nolan got none of the "biggies". By far the most original film for years. With an industry that gives us way too many sequels (hangover 2, coming soon!!!) and remakes (bodyguard remake rumoured, sigh) it was a breath of fresh air. Rewatched recently and it did not disappoint.

Yay - another film buff :T
I agree that Christopher Nolan should have got some recognition for Inception. He does some really clever films - probably my favourite director. I don't think he would do an Inception 2. He seems to care more about the story than the money.
Not sure that description of Avatar has helped my aversion towards it. I think it's the blue people that put me off :rotfl:.
A Bodyguard remake - umm why??? Don't think I will be watching that if they do it. I am looking forward to the superhero movies coming up like the new Spider-Man, Batman and X-men movies.0 -
Oh they are not just blue, they also very annoyingly cat like. See it once and then move onto to something better
I don't believe that Chris Nolan would do an Inception 2, he's not that kind of director. Liking the way he is rebelling against 3D too.
I am looking forward to the new Batman. Spiderman, interested not sure it needed a reboot so soon after the last series of films. X-men, sooooo worried about this one. I LOVE the X-Men my fave from Marvel by a long shot. Just worried that like Spiderman by going back they might find the original films box them in on where they can go. But will go and see it and hope for the best. I mean Matthew Vaughan is the director and I have loved everything he has done.
Good question about the bodyguard remake but then I read the other day that they are remaking The Crow. Enough already get your own ideas!!!!
Rant Over
We seemed to have hijacked your diary, sorry Emzilla

Don't be sorry about hijacking my diary. I love talking about movies. I just emailed my OH and told him that I was having a great movie chat this afternoon and he said he would take me to the cinema tonight :T. Will report back tomorrow on what we see.
I think the Spiderman film is safe as the original ones were ok but not that great. I agree that the X-Men films are one of the best superhero ones. I also really like Iron Man and Batman.0 -
deff agree with the x-men series ... thought spiderman was toal rubbish .. alot of the batman ones were as well ... although dark knight was awesome ... surely to goodness they cant be attempting another crow ? thats just bad bad news that is there are some films that should be left alone either cause they are that good or cause they are that bad ...it's like lost boys 2 !!!!!! was that all about ... i wanted to scream at the t.v
maybe one of you two can help me name this film i saw and loved (but cant remember the title) it was a kinda dark film about a guy that kinda looked like a bird .. he had commited suicide and he was journeying through the underworld ?0 -

I meant I liked the new Batman films. I agree that the earlier ones weren't up to much. Speaking of sequels - they are doing a Happy Feet 2!!! The first one was torture, I really hope my niece doesn't want to watch it.
That sounds like a very dark movie Elantan. The only one that springs to mind is What Dreams May Come starring Robin Williams but I know that's not right.0 -
no it wasnt that one ... but that was a good one (i thought) i think it was called INK i really liked it ... just checked yes it was called INk .. if you get a chance watch it ... amazing film ... it's deff a underground cult style film
happy feet two ... are they trying to send us insane lol0 -
