I got hit with the spyware protection virus while using google, no way to get rid of the bloody thing as it disables everything and prevents downloads to remove it. It also prevents you from reinstalling windows, basically it knackers everything until you pay a registration fee.
I think it was also directing me to buy spyware removal programs as none of the free programs I downloaded worked.

To get round the problem in the end, I used a cancelled credit card and fake details to get the registration key, it worked. Now I can remove it from my PC.

"Now I can remove it from my PC"
Hmmmm........I doubt it?
Download the latest version of Malwarebytes from filehippo.com
Once you have downloaded Malwarebytes make sure you update it first before running a full scan.
When the scan has finished make sure you remove anything Malwarebytes finds and then post the log file in your next message.0 -

I had Malwarebytes 7.4 installed on my PC, spyware protectection disabled it. It might as well not be there.
Anyway to get rid of everything I wiped the HD and reinstalled the OS. It was due an overhaul anyway.0
