Train tickets between Basingstoke and Milton Keynes Central

Hello!
I was wondering if anyone knows how I could get cheaper train tickets, (why is it so difficult to find them?!)
I am going from Basingstoke to Milton Keynes Central on 23'rd March 2011, preferably via Clapham Junction.
I'll be leaving after 09.30 to get back to Milton Keynes about 12'o clock.
The best price I have found so far is £31.10.
Can anyone help please?

You can split at Euston: £22.40 + £5 = £27.40. (Without a railcard)
Have a play with some other splits. Clapham Jct, Watford ?0 -
I don't think you'll get below £31.10 single via Clapham Junction/Kensington Olympia
And that £5 Euston - MK fare is an advance single on LM trains only - you might need to dig about to find it but it's there on most trains at the moment.0
