I suspected izools might be one of the 'no names mentioned'!

Clearly izools used to be a no-good reprobate who one would cross the road to avoid, but I've always found the advice they've posted here to be absolutely sound.

Izools has been through bankruptscy and came out no doubt alot wiser and more knowledgeable of financial affairs. As such Izools experiences is a help to us all.

You post this and yet then you yourself go and post on a thread telling someone they should go bankrupt and then in six years they are home and free? Hmm pots and kettles come to mind, perhaps this forum isn't the place for you?

The reason i've mentioned bankrupt was a friend of mine decided to take a trip down to CAB,where one of the advisor advised my friend to go bankrupt as he could no longer afford to pay his creditors.

This is a forum sammyjammy now you tell me where that advice is wrong.
Do you want the poor bug*er who is in all that debt to pay back £100 a month for the rest of his life,or do you as the CAB said advised him that bankruptcy is a shorter term option where within 6 years is credit rating would be unaffected, and the hassle of creditors will be no longer.
  • i think the op is rather harsh in his statements, ive stalked this threads for a long long while before joining and ive found that its those people who have gone through bankruptcy or bad credit spells that give very strict and to the point advice to those who are going down the same road they have been and managed to come out of.who better to teach others than someone who has experience in such matters, these people have not gone out of their way to be bankrupt or in debt, they got there through various means peculiar to their individual circumstances. i think they should be applauded for coming out here to support others and give advice to those who genuinely seek and need it. dont discourage them with your insensitive comments please...

After reading back my thread and took in a few comments,I have decided I was completely wrong in what I said as I know most of the time experience is better than inexperience.

I did sound harsh what I said but it is mostly the people who have been their and done it and had their ups and downs, are the best ones to ask.

    My apologies

Sorry to sound a bit off,but been on here a week or so now but been a long term viewer for a while.

I have noticed by spying lol and going through people's posts and previous posts and i've come across the fact that most of the people giving out advice on this credit card forum are actually members who struggle to credit themselves.

And not mentioning no names members who have also been in financial difficulty before.
I am no financial advisor but to me it defiantly seems that people who have bad credit ratings themselves are giving out advice.

Shoot me down if I am wrong but I would not take my car to a Mechanic who was known to mess up other cars he has worked on:)

Haha.......i posted a thread similar to this once and it got pulled.

Taking advice from some of these people that are seriously in debt, is like taking advice from Gary Glitter about child-minding.

If I was a an alcoholic and get asked to go to a AA meeting the last person I would want telling me about booze is a councillor who has been to university to get his degree for the course.
I would want a ex alcoholic who has been their and done TBH to help me.
