Ive written a letter about some peanuts i bought but im not sure who i would put after 'Dear' in the letter

Sir/Madam is the usual, unless you know who in the customer service department you're addressing

Whatever you do, don't be nasty and state a willingness to be a future customer (even if you don't mean it).

Oh, hang on, just read your thread properly! i don't even use "Dear", just use "Sirs" (and please, no comments on political correctness / sex discrimination etc - it is perfectly acceptable to address a letter such. suppose there will be tons of posts now on this, and nothing to do with the problem posed)

ive sent the letter off earlier, id bought some peanuts(Nobby's nuts) in a pub last night while i was watching the football and they were meant to be salted but the salt was non existent so i wrote a letter on the pack and explained why i wasnt happy
