old charges account now closed and I can't remember my account no any hope??

I was charged £100's if not £1,000's by Abbey National in 2002/2003, £30 for every returned item etc. I returned to my hsbc account and made arrangements to pay £160 a month to clear the overdraft (almost doubled because of the charges), thankfully cleared it a couple of years ago. Last year having a clear out I threw out all my abbey statements and have no record anywhere of them or my account no:mad: . I don't suppose I have any hope in reclaiming them. Anybody out there have any advice, I could really do with the money!! Many thanks.

As part of the Data Protection Act, if you can prove who you say you are, don't they have to divulge all information they hold on you - including account numers etc...?

You could try checking your credit history with Experian / Equifax - I seem to remember them holding extensive personal info - including account numbers - when I last checked my file.

Hi

I've had a lot of credit cards over the last 6 years which I have cut up and no longer have details for. I do know which comanies they were through though so thats a start.

Is there any way of getting details of my account numbers and claiming my charges back?

Has anyone managed to do this?
