Selling shares

Hi

Apologies firstly if wrong place to post.

I have some shares not a great amount currently at £534 value or so I think, Ive had to apply for a replacement share certificate which should be here anyday. I would like to sell them but have no clue how to do this....... anyone got any recommendations of who to use and roughly how much to expect to pay for the transaction.

Many Thanks

Easiest way is to go to the nearest branch of your bank which does over-the-counter share dealing - however it may well not be the most cost-effective, for example NatWest appear to charge the greater of 2.2% and £45.

Can you not use the same people who sent you the duplicate share certificate? Most big companies have a service that is usually cheap although you lose a little control over when they are sold.
  • Hi

They are through Capita and yes they do offer a share selling services but I keep asking how much and been told need to wait till share certifcate comes through. After paying a £36 to get a replacement certificate that I never recived in the first place (long story!) Im thinking are they going to be the more expensive option so wondering if anyone else had any experience.

Ive seen something online in regards to the banks starting at around 12.50 i think maybe I should look into this a little more though.
