House inspection?

We have had mould problems for around 3/4 months now in our apartment. Our letting agents don't seem to be too bothered but since we are sleeping 1ft away from this black/green mould it would be nice to get it sorted. Is there any time of insepction that can be done by a health and safety exec or someone similar to check that it isnt harmful to us?
Many thanks

What ventilation is there? Do you open windows when showering/cooking? Have you tried to do anything yourself? Aldi recently had mould removal spray in recently that would help to remove it.0

Good question;).0 -
We have the vents at the top of windows which are always open, we have the window open sometimes in the day when we are not heating the room. We did use a dehumidifier for around a month. We have been told to just "wipe the mould off" by the letting agents, which we have done but it just comes back. The apartments are only 3/4 years old but seem to have been put up by mickey mouse.
The mould is around most of the windows in the house, but is only on the walls of the bedroom (2 of these walls are outside building walls)0 -
Whereabouts on the walls are the mould patches?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

The reason the Letting Agents are not interested is because its nothing to do with them.
Mould is a result of condensation which is cauised by the way you manage your lifestyle.
When you bath / shower, you need to keep the door shut even after you have finished and the window open.
You need to do the same when you cook pasta, rice, spuds etc (plus puit a lid on the saucepan). Make sure when you dry clothes etc oin the flat that you keepa window open.
I'm afraid it's all down to lack of ventilation and too much moisture in the atmosphere caused by you.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Friends of mine had damp problems and black mold, the agency sorted it all out and they didn't pay rent until it was sorted plus they got compensation for damage to personal possesions.
Black mold is toxic and can have a great affect on your health.0
