concert ticket limit question

Most concert events have ticket limits with the websites. However I have found conflicting limits over different websites. Some say 8 whilst another says 10.
If you purchase 14 over 3 different companies would this be registered? I have an event where I need more tickets for a group of friends to go and am worried that tickets could be cancelled.
I have used 2 different cards but one will have 9 tickets on it but from different companies. (4 & 5)
I know that some ticket agencies are linked and am wondering if they will recognise the same card.
My questions are do companies actually pool information or will it go un-noticed? Why does some say 8 ticket limit on some & 10 on others if the same promoter is being used for the event?
