Token (£1) payments to creditors - Girobank slips?????
Comments

Thanks a lot, those are the stupid Girobank slips with no info on the beack.
Others I got say (at the back) how they can be paid and all mention where can they be paid for free - not those though....
Will chack later and maybe someone can help.....
When I do make payments on line there is no space for putting any info - just amount, sort code and account number - so no way to put the ref number of the pament or anything else so not sure how could they say those are from me/what account.....
Thanks again0 -
Hi, not sure if this will help but when i made arrangements with creditors, they all sent me slips too and again, some were fee charging, so i now pay online through their websites.
Tbh, even if they weren't fee charging slips i would still pay this way as it's convenient and i don't have to be in charge of receipts (i am of the lazy and unorganized variety
)
All you have to do is go to their website, find the pay us now area, enter your reference number and sometimes sirname and then proceed to pay.
I only have one creditor who i can't do this with and i have to pay them through my bank. I was quite worried the first time in case it didn't reach my account etc but phoned them to check it had arrived and once that was confirmed, i did this every month after.
xxPay off as much as you can in 2011 #130. £1418.70/£4500.

Thanks again everyone - the problem one is Credit Security Ltd (payslips that nobody accepts free and PO charges around £2.65 per one).
Also Littlewoods flatly refused to accept token payments.
MBNA and Santander did not bother to reply - wrote to all cretitors on 2nd Feb.
Wrote to all again just now (posting letters tomorrow) - keeping copies of all letters.. siggh...0 -

Yorkshire Building Society have a Cash Transactor savings account that can be opened with £1 and they allow "third party" cheque withdrawals free
- which means you can visit a branch pay in £3 and withdraw 3 x £1 cheques payable to the companies you are paying

"Cheque withdrawals up to a maximum of £10,000 - made payable to you, the account holder(s), or to a third party " this account can be used at Britannia branches too (the passbook version - not cashcard)grumpyoldwoman41 wrote: »When I do make payments on line there is no space for putting any info - just amount, sort code and account number - so no way to put the ref number of the pament or anything else so not sure how could they say those are from me/what account.....
COOP Bank have a space to put the reference number if you use -

Of course Co Op has this but I have not been using "bill payment" for so long that I have forgotten about it, I do have a CoOp account but only ever use funds transfer, thanks for that....0 -

You know Credit Security Ltd use A&L Billpay
http://creditsecurity.co.uk/
The Housing Association at my previous address used A&L Billpay and I found it perfectly safe to use
I would pay by debit card using that
A&L Billpay provide transaction history so you will have a list of transactions
https://www.santanderbillpayment.co.uk/scripts/index.asp you can register yourself on the website , you don't need to contact Credit Security Ltd if you have your reference / account numberHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Thank you for that - I have already posted the letters now.. took the dog for a late walk...
Will try to pay all online though, so much grief with those pay in slips and each in a different bank (6 creditors), will be easiest online...
Thanks again0
