Switch from NTL to BT

I'm currently with NTL for my telephone and broadband, however I want to swap to BT in preparation for the free broadband which will be offered by sky tv, in the near future. Is anyone aware whether I can get free re-connection to BT or if I can get this cheap.
Thanks.
Thanks.

If there's been a previous BT line at your place, BT may reconnect free of charge but, if not or if engineering works are required, you may be charged for a 'new installation' (£124.99).
It helps if you know whether or not there has been a previous line (old BT main socket somewhere?) and it's even better if you know the old number.
Try asking BT - http://www.bt.com/lines/index.jspTime has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
