After yesterdays post attacking us greedy BTL landlords who are destroying the hopes and ambitions of youngsters today I was wondering the cheapest ways of living
( not homelessness ) possible to help save for a deposit.
Some take a bit of lateral thinking and a readiness to rough it even if only on a temporary basis. So we've had the thread from the couple who moved out of their rented flat into their campervan and I'm wondering if this can be beaten so i'll start.
You buy a tent in April and erect it somewhere without pitch fees until Beg Oct when the weather turns. You use public facilities to shower n wash etc and eat from supermarket bins and ' shop' at freecycle.
Any advance on ways I can save living costs you creative people.:D

You want an advance on how to save more money than living in a tent & bin raiding would?
I think you might have it covered!
My personal preference over that option might be straightforward Gold-digging
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Prison - there you go another one.
Why bother sweating with stress in some career when you can go robbing and thieving and get free board and lodging, food, recreation, exercise, plasma TV and time to watch it.
Ooh how silly are we law abiding citizens. The answers so obvious.
Some of these are great.:beer:0 -
How about getting a job with accomodation provided... not the cheapest way, but far more luxurious than a tent.
If in a couple, both join the army

Mug people for their gold and phones, send them off to the dodgy "we'll buy your stuff for 5% of it's value" and sleep rough on a park bench, raiding the local Maccy D's for the food that the sling out at the end of the day

If you live in a tent/B&B/friends floor, and consider yourself homeless, then my local salvation army runs a project called doorway. They have free personal showers and washing/iron facilities. Free hot meals served 3 days a week and supply free cold food to take away with you. They will also give you a new tent, sleeping bag and smoke alarms should u be sleeping in a building and net access.0
